Who We Are
GEORGIA is a movement-based performing arts organization redefining the future of color guard.
GEORGIA began in 2014 as the University of Georgia color guard program. For a decade, we shaped performers, leaders, and artists under the UGA name. In 2024, the program became independent — and what at first felt uncertain quickly became opportunity. Today, GEORGIA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a clearer vision, greater creative freedom, and a deeper commitment to the performers and communities we serve.
Color guard is one of the few performing arts where elite artists spend their careers paying to perform, with virtually no professional pathway after aging out. GEORGIA exists to change that. We treat our performers as creative collaborators — not just executors — and our process is built around movement, expression, and authenticity. Winning matters, but developing strong, disciplined artists who can build a future in this craft matters more.
