Our Educational Philosophy

At GEORGIA, performers are creative collaborators — not just executors of choreography. Our process is rooted in education, accountability, and personal development. We believe true performance begins in the body, which is why movement, expression, and authenticity sit at the core of how we train. Winning matters, but developing strong, disciplined artists who can build a future in this craft matters more.

01.

— Our Mission

“Georgia Movement Collective exists to strengthen communities through the power of performance art — pioneering the first professional winterguard where artists are paid for their craft, developing the next generation of performers, and creating lasting impact through service and artistic excellence.”

02.

— Our Vision

A future where every color guard artist has the opportunity to create, teach, and earn beyond the pre-professional years — strengthening the entire ecosystem of the activity.

03.

— Our Story

Founded in 2014 as the University of Georgia color guard program, GEORGIA spent a decade developing performers under the UGA name. In 2024 the program became independent, and what at first felt uncertain quickly became opportunity. Today, GEORGIA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit redefining what’s possible for the artists who shape this craft.
